The Australasian

Doctors For Nutrition is an Australian health-promotion charity led by medical and dietetic professionals dedicated to bringing food back to healthcare. Our vision is a society and healthcare system that embraces nutrition solutions to help people optimise their health and quality of life.

The Nutrition in Healthcare Conference is Doctors For Nutrition's peak event at which healthcare experts present the scientific evidence that demonstrates the power of nutrition to prevent, alleviate and even reverse disease.

The inaugural Nutrition in Healthcare Conference took place in Melbourne in February 2019 with international Keynote Speaker, Dr Neal Barnard. Visit the media link to access podcasts and videos with Dr Barnard and other presenters from #NIHC2019. If you were a 2019 conference delegate, your login page to access powerpoints and other speaker materials is here.

The next Nutrition in Healthcare Conference is now being planned to return to Melbourne in the first quarter of 2023. Please subscribe here to receive updates and announcements about #NIHC2023.

Please note, the conference has been postponed to 2023 due to ongoing border closures and travel restrictions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Doctors For Nutrition is continuing to offer educational content on a regular basis in a virtual format and in person where possible, including our free Food Vitals webinar series for health professionals and interested members of the public. Will conference sessions be recorded or livestreamed?

The presentations will be recorded for purchase after the event. They will not be livestreamed, although live updates will be posted from the conference via Doctors For Nutrition's social media channels.

Does a seniors card qualify the holder for concession rates?

Unfortunately we are unable to extend concession rates to seniors cardholders unless they also have another kind of concession, such as disability card etc.

Can I buy entry to part of the conference only?

Conference admission includes all elements of the Friday and Saturday program, with your selection of optional add-on Sunday sessions. If there is a day of the conference you are unable to attend, you may transfer that portion of your ticket to another person: name change to be advised via email.

Do I need to bring printed tickets?

No, the NIHC is set up for paperless check-in, so all you need to do is scan your ticket barcode from the Humanitix email confirmation via your mobile phone as you enter on the Friday and Saturday. Separate scanning will be done for each of the Sunday sessions. If for any reason you don't have your ticket barcode to hand, our door team will check you in via the door list.

Are any of the sessions repeated?

No, there is no duplication of content. Some presenters (such as international expert Dr Scott Stoll) will deliver sessions on the Saturday and a further workshop on the Sunday, but each session will have its own specific topic and format.

Are there any volunteering opportunities?

Thanks so much for your interest in helping at the NIHC2019! There are a few volunteer roles available. For details and to apply, please complete the volunteer application form here.
